Travel Distant Lands

Slide 1
Région Parisienne
Paris, France

This is only one of several trips I took to France between1981-85 while living and working in Frankfurt, West Germany. This was prior to re-establishing Germany as a single full sovereign state, 3 Oct 1990. Situated on the Seine River, Paris is the capital and most populous city of France.

So, welcome to the mesmerizing realm of Paris; one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is also a great place for learning the French language. Visit a city where every cobblestone holds whispers of history and every avenue unfurls a tapestry of experiences.

Belgrade Hotel
Moscow, Russia

Built in 1975, the Belgrade Hotel offered a basic but comfortable accommodation. It was situated within a short walk from Smolenskaya Metro Station. My room was modest and feature telephone, television and standard hotel amenities during my six day stay in Moscow from 26 Nov - 1 Dec 1984.

This was an adventure in the midst of a very cold Moscow winter. The finer restaurants were off-limits to foreigners; being constantly watched and followed; Gum (department store) was nearly depleted of stock; I stood 4 hrs. in-line to enter Lenin's Tomb; Bolshoi Ballet on tour, so I went to the Kremlin Theater instead; and I visited a mink farm among other tourist sites.

Introduction

This website is designed to showcase my interests and participation in a wide variety of activities. It is continuly being updated.

Frends and others often ask about my background, and I find this site to be very convenient to fill them in because simply telling them about my experiences would take too long and be very boring.

More than 98% of the photographs posted were taken by me. Others are used to illustrate a particular point. I hope your perusal is an enjoyable one.
