Panama Canal Zone
The Panama Canal is an artificial waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean and divides North and South America. The canal cuts across the Isthmus of Panama and is a conduit for maritime trade. The canal opened in 1914.
In October 1967, I arrived in Panama City, Panama to attend the dedication ceremonies for the placement of the Corner Stone that would mark the site for the construction of the Baha’i Temple; as one of five official photographers assigned to document the events.
